Both children and adults enjoy dressing up to celebrate Halloween. Whether it be a Fairy Tinkerbelle Costume or a wicked witch costume safety is always a concern. Sometimes the best thing to do to protect your family is to throw your own party at home. This allows you to control the environment while you kids still have lots of fun.
There are so many kids Halloween party games to choose from and below we’ve listed a few that might suit your fancy.
Halloween Charades. This is a game that can be play by kids of all ages. If there are enough people try to organize in groups of two it makes it a lot more fun. One person on a team will simply gesture or give one-word clues while the other team guesses.
Everyone is seated and eventually everyone will have a turn. When its your turn you reach into a shoebox and pull out a piece of paper that has the name of a known Halloween character written on it.
It’s good to have the game be a timed event, we suggest one to two minutes to try and guess the Halloween character. This could be a witch, spider, Batman, Robin, Spiderman, scarecrow or even a ghost. Pre-selected prizes are awarded to the winners.
Pass the Orange or Apple. This is best played with medium sized groups between 4 -8 on each team. Each team stands in line, directly behind each other. The first person in line is given an orange or an apple, which is held by their chin. All participants should have their hands clasped behind their backs.
Without using their hands, the goal of the first person in line is to pass the orange or apple to the person immediately behind them without using their hands. The first team that successfully passes the object, without dropping it, to the last person in their line wins.
Halloween Treat Hunt. If you’ have very young children this game is the perfect solution so that they can have fun. This is a spin off of the old Easter egg hunt. You can use plastic eggs and paint them with Halloween faces or small plastic pumpkins. Fill the items with delicious candy and other kids Halloween treats. Try putting a special prize in one or two of the eggs. This game may be best played outdoors but if that’s not possible inside your home will do just fine.
