Tips For Choosing Your Halloween Witch Costume

Halloween is the second most celebrated holiday in the United States behind Christmas. Each there are new costume characters that both kids and adults alike try to mimic. However, Halloween witch costumes seem to continue to be popular year in and year out. There’s something special about an old wicked witch from the west that continues to attract Halloween participants.

So if you really plan on dressing yourself up like a witch we’d like to offer you some tips that will you be the most authentic witch in your neighborhood.

Witch Dress. Every witch is going to need a dress. The dress should preferably be a dark color, usually black. It should be threadbare, shabby and worn out. A wish is certainly not going to be concerned about her attire, that job is reserved for the princess. Besides the odor from her special brew would get all into her clothes and we can’t have that.

Witch Hat. To top of the black witch’s dress we got to a scantily clad hat. A purple hat is find as long as it’s pointed at the top. Try adding some artificial spider webs for added believability. The shabbier the hat can look the better; the witch is not a well kept woman.

Witch Wig. A long black and gray wig is perfect for your Halloween witch costume. Witches generally look old and very seedy. Make sure that the long hair hangs down far enough from under the hat until it drapes over your shoulder. The hair should almost hide the eyes from view because witches have the reputation of being very sneaky.

Witch Broom. No witch would be complete without an old beat up broom. In fact, you may compromise on something but not the broom. How else is the witch supposed to travel from place to place?

Witch Shoes. Every witch needs a pair of very old looking pair of black boots. Everything about the witch’s persona is dark including her clothes. The shoes are the last piece of attire to give her that overall sinister look.

Witch Make-up. Apply green make-up yourself almost look dead. Once you do you will look like the most natural witch at any Halloween party.

Witch Cape. Don’t forget a black cape when putting together your Halloween witch costume. The cape should look shabby just like the dress, boots and hat. The cape should be flowing enough so when you whip it around it creates that whoosh sound.
